We believe that Black Lives Matter
We want to strive for a society that acknowledges and addresses systemic racism and we stand with those who are working to tackle racism, inequality, injustice and oppression, and those helping to build a better, fairer and kinder world.
Racism, prejudice, discrimination and cultural bias are everyday realities for many of the young people we work with. These realities create unjust barriers in education, employment, the justice system and too many other areas of life. XLP works with young people to overcome these and other barriers they face. Whilst we are not primarily a policy or advocacy charity, we know that systemic racism is a global issue and a reality in this country, and acknowledge that we have a role in bringing about that change.
We have a fantastic team at XLP who enable and encourage conversations on racism, injustice and inequality to be had, and who do so with such patience and grace. We want to keep learning, keep talking about this internally and externally, keep working towards being a more diverse organisation, and we want to help young people engage with these issues. In spite of all the barriers they face, we want young people to flourish, thrive, achieve and succeed, and help to create positive futures.
