Newham is a borough of variety- from the old Dockland areas of Canning Town, to the busy multi-cultural markets and shops of Green Street. In Newham you are spoilt for choice when it comes to experiencing culture, with markets selling all variety of asian, afro-carribean and eastern-european food.
With places of interest such as the Excel Centre, the old Docklands, London City airport, great parks, Newham has a unique identity. Newham has the proud status of being both the youngest borough in London, and the most ethinically diverse - over 100 different languages are spoken here.
In 2012 Newham will host %60 of the Olympic games, and become a focus point for London.
Famous people who have come from Newham include Perry Fenwick (Billy from EastEnders), Actor Danny Dyer, poet Benjamin Zephaniah and grime artist Kano.
