Whilst on the eXperience training students will have various people managing and supporting them. Pastoral support, and the provision of people with whom the student can reflect and discuss any issues or concerns that arise during the course is also key to the year’s success.

Borough Leader and the eXperience course Leader.
Students will work with their Borough Team Leaders on a daily basis; they will get to know them very well. These Borough Leaders report to the eXperience Course Leader who is currently a qualified teacher and experienced church minister.

Borough Pastoral Team
XLP has an experienced pastoral oversight team whose members are assigned to each of the borough teams. Students meet with them regularly as part of th course and can discuss any pastoral issues or concerns with them. The Borough Pastoral Team liaises with placement church leaders regarding the welfare of their respective students.

Placement Church Pastoral Support
It is also strongly encouraged that every church provides a person who is not connected to the management of the student’s placement, but is available to meet at least monthly with the student. This is to provide someone the student can discuss any personal issues, concerns or challenges to a wise, friendly ear. It also encourages a connection to the placement church, further than the students church-work alone.

Other Borough Team Members
Each student is part of a team and you will get to know, and mutually support, one another over the year.
