Assemblies
XLP’s assemblies are thought-provoking and entertaining. Using multi-media, drama, short talks and games, many themes are covered, from current world issues such as Trade Justice and the ‘Make Poverty History’ campaign to the day-to-day problems of living in communities.
These talks relate to both home and school life. Many of XLP’s assembly themes can be developed further through follow-up lessons or additional assemblies. This ensures vital messages are not glossed over. XLP’s assembly materials are constantly under review to reflect the changes in the world and in your school.

XLP’s also tours at certain times of the year bringing together virtually the whole XLP team of experienced staff and volunteers to put on a show lasting approximately one hour. These themed tours aim to engage, encourage and challenge the students using multi-media, drama, short talks, video clips and games. There is also the option to book follow-up assemblies and lessons to explore the themes further. XLP currently offers an annual Christmas tour and ‘Gunz Down’.
Gunz Down has been developed in response to the growing issue of young people carrying weapons. Partnering with the hip-hop band GreenJade and backed by the Metropolitan Police, XLP is touring schools with the message that there are serious consequences to carrying weapons.
