Mission

XLP not only works with young people and communities in London, but is also involved in providing support to young people and communities overseas including Ghana, India and Turkey. Working on such projects not only helps those who live in some of the most deprived areas of the world, but also enables our staff and students to learn how to communicate across cultural boundaries. Insights gleaned from our overseas work have been invaluable in working successfully in the multi-cultural communities of London.

XLP sends at least two teams abroad each year. In Ghana, we are working with the Ashanti-Akim Community Organisation to build schools and an educational resource centre. In India, we are working with Asha, an organisation that works with women in the slum areas of Mumbai/ Delhi providing support.
