TSOTE

I had been bullied for much of my time in primary school and had accepted that I was different   and weird and believed there was no reason for anyone to particularly be interested in me. But XLP were.

I was late, even if I signed up for something, I couldn’t make it on time, I didn’t understand a reason to be on time. I had been bullied for much of my time in primary school and had accepted that I was different and weird and believed there was no reason for anyone to particularly be interested in me. But XLP were. I began as part of the Arts Showcase project and even after taking part in the showcase they kept giving me other opportunities - whether it was to go ice-skating or workshops, they kept in contact. They didn't treat me like I was weird or anything. They introduced me to a band made up of other young people they were working with. My confidence began to grow and my time keeping improved as others were relying on me being on time. We practised hard and performed to loads of people this year. I am now head girl at my school, and I just got an A* when I took my English GCSE early. Thanks XLP.
