Vision & Aims
In July 2003, XLP was awarded the inaugural Queen’s Golden Jubilee Award for voluntary service by groups in the community. The award was granted in recognition of XLP “working with and supporting schools, families and communities in South London.”
XLP is a Christian charity, but whilst it is a faith-based, it is not faith biased: we work equally with young people of all faiths and none. Our common passion is to see communities transformed and restored through our work.
Our mission is:
XLP’s work is underpinned by the following key values:
- Grass roots focussed
- Relational, team-oriented and inclusive
- Embracing diversity and multiculturalism
- Radical and relevant to the marginalised
- Empowering and envisioning for young people
- Expectant of transformed neighbourhoods

XLP is a Christian faith-based organisation rooted in local church and local community: “communicating with more than words.” We embrace cultural and ethnic diversity and intentionally pursue engagement with London’s multi-cultural community to achieve our goals of serving, educating, empowering and mobilising young people.
